On this site you will be able to find information and applications for our Scholarship and Graduation programs ( African American Baccalaureate). Additionally, we will post information about our upcoming community service and fundraising events.
Scholarship Application Requirements

Student must be of African American descent

Student must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average

Student must be on target to graduate from a Santa Clara County comprehensive high school by June 2020

Deadline for submission: March 15, 2020
The application must include the following:

Completed Scholarship Application.

Verification of a minimum of 20 hours of Community Service.

Original Essay. maximum of two typed pages on the following topic: "The arc of the moral universe is long, but bends toward justice." Dr. King. Please explain what this quote means to you and how your community service activities and/or future plans support and display Dr. King’s vision in this quote.

Two reference letters: One from an educator at your school; One from church, or community member. (nonrelative).

Color Photo Headshot: picture may be wallet size.

Official Transcript including semester grades through the first semester of the senior year of high school. This transcript must be submitted in your school’s official sealed envelope.
Scholarship Application
Baccalaureate Information
The local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. along with the Ivy Rose Community Foundation, Inc. is sponsoring a special program to honor high school graduates as part of our service to the African American community.
During the program, students will be honored for participating in community, extra-curricular, civic, and cultural activities. They will also be recognized for scholastic honors, most improved student honors, leadership, and sports. Some students will receive monetary awards/ plaques for outstanding participation in the areas noted above. Our 2020 scholarship recipients will be announced during the program.
To participate in the program, please complete the application and return it to your school representative or mail to the address located on the application. The deadline is April 6.
